Naira Marley Denies Threats, Molestation of Mohbad in Court Testimony.

Naira Marley Denies Threats, Molestation of Mohbad in Court Testimony.

Nigerian singer Naira Marley has testified before a magistrate court, denying allegations that he threatened or molested the late singer Mohbad.

Speaking virtually at the Coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley stated that he signed Mohbad to his record label for four albums, but they were never completed due to conflicts between Mohbad and his manager. He dismissed Mohbad’s viral video, in which he implicated Naira Marley and his crew, claiming Mohbad later apologized and attributed the video to drug influence.

However, Mohbad’s lawyer, Oluwasanmi Falade, contradicted Naira Marley’s claims, asserting that a dispute over royalties existed. Falade stated that he had written to Marlian Records on Mohbad’s behalf but received no response and that the matter is now in litigation. He also testified that Mohbad was attacked by music promoter Sam Larry, whom the police have been unable to arrest. The court has now summoned Sam Larry to testify at the next hearing.
