Wizkid Renews Feud with Davido, Calls Him Talentless on X.

The long-standing feud between Nigerian music superstars Wizkid and Davido shows no signs of ending, as Wizkid took to social media once again to fire shots at his fellow artist. The fresh round of insults has sparked heated conversations among fans, reigniting a decade-long rivalry that has defined much of their interactions.

On the night of October 1, 2024, Wizkid posted a cryptic message on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Beg me! just like…,” a statement that was quickly interpreted by fans as a dig at Davido. The reference was linked to a viral video involving Davido, and within minutes, social media was buzzing with speculation.

The post drew reactions from both Wizkid and Davido’s fan bases, with heated exchanges erupting in the comment sections. Far from retracting his statements, Wizkid doubled down on his criticism. Responding to a fan’s tweet about his upcoming album, Wizkid replied, “Bingos got nothing on Starboy General!! till infinity,” seemingly dismissing Davido’s entire body of work.

The insults continued when Wizkid referred to Davido as “Frogido,” a nickname that has long been used by some fans to mock the “Unavailable” singer. Wizkid then took it further, tweeting, “Pussy boys dropping mids again! 80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! Pussy boys!”

When questioned by a user if the ongoing beef was a marketing strategy for his music, Wizkid’s response was swift and biting: “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!” This public declaration reignited old debates about the musical talents of both stars, leaving fans divided once more.

The origins of the Wizkid-Davido rivalry can be traced back to 2014; when a series of subtweets and perceived slights escalated into a full-blown feud. It began when Wizkid boasted about performing at “proper shows, proper venues,” which was interpreted as a jab at Davido’s recent concert.

In response, Davido took to Snapchat to proclaim that his “Pon Pon” sound was superior to any other, indirectly shading Wizkid’s style. This exchange set the tone for years of tension between the two, as fans and media fanned the flames, leading to the ongoing hostilities we see today.
