Nigerian actress and producer Funke Akindele has shared her insights on achieving success, emphasizing the necessity of hard work and perseverance. In an interview on the “WithChude” podcast, she stressed the importance of “doing the dirty work” and not shying away from demanding tasks.  

Akindele also highlighted the crucial role of spirituality, self-awareness, and originality in her ability to consistently reinvent herself within the entertainment industry. She attributed her four-year streak of box office success to her intentionality and dedication to achieving perfection.

This comes shortly after a controversy involving skit maker Ijoba Lande, who initially claimed he was paid a meager ₦90,000 for a month’s work on Akindele’s film set. Lande later apologized and corrected the amount to ₦190,000, but his initial claims sparked a debate about fair compensation within the Nollywood industry. Akindele’s comments about hard work and dedication offer a counterpoint to the controversy, emphasizing her own commitment to success.
