Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz, known for his Bongo Flava hits, shocked fans and family by abruptly calling off his wedding to fiancee Sophia just before the ceremony. The revelation came during an interview with Esma Platnumz, Diamond’s sister, on Wasafi FM.

According to Esma, everything was set for the big day. Families had agreed to the marriage, preparations were underway, and a dowry had even been presented to Sophia’s family. Diamond himself had ordered matching outfits for the ceremony.

However, Diamond had a last-minute change of heart. Esma revealed that Diamond expressed concerns about rushing into marriage and wanted more certainty before making such a commitment. This decision came despite attempts by his family, including his mother Sanura Kasimu, to persuade him to go through with the wedding.

This is not the first time Diamond has called off a wedding. The singer, who is a father of four, has had several high-profile relationships in the past, including with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna and singer Zuchu. Diamond has recently declared himself single on social media.
