Bill Cosby’s Spokesman Rips Eddie Murphy As ‘Hollywood Slave’ Over SNL Jab

Bill Cosby’s spokesman likened Eddie Murphy to a “Hollywood Slave” on Sunday in response to the star’s jokes about the disgraced comedian.

The comment came after Murphy, now a father of 10, appeared on “SNL” where he cracked barbs about Cosby being in jail.

Murphy said the 82-year-old Cosby was no longer “America’s Dad.”

“If you would have told me 30 years ago that I would be this boring, stay-at-home house dad and Bill Cosby would be in jail, even I would have took that bet,” Murphy said.

“Who is America’s dad now?”

Cosby is currently serving a three- to 10-year sentence for his 2018 conviction on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and molesting Temple University staffer Andrea Constand.

Cosby’s spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, blasted Murphy’s jokes as “disparaging,” in a statement.

“One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave,” read Wyatt’s statement, referring to the comic’s first return to “SNL” in 35 years.

Wyatt, in his statement, said Cosby brought people together through comedy.

“Remember, Mr. Murphy, that Bill Cosby became legendary because he used comedy to humanize all races, religions and genders; but your attacking Mr. Cosby helps you embark on just becoming click bait,” Wyatt’s statement said.

“Hopefully, you will be amenable to having a meeting of the minds conversation.”

Cosby and Murphy have a checkered past.

In his 1987 stand up comedy film, “Eddie Murphy Raw,” the comic explained how Cosby lectured him about his use of bad language on stage.

“I’ve been a big fan of Bill Cosby all my life,” Murphy said in the special. “Never met the man before, but he called me up about a year ago and chastised me on the phone for being too dirty on stage.”

In a July episode of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” Murphy told host Jerry Seinfeld that Cosby “was shitty with me” during his comic career.

“He had this weird thing with me that he didn’t have with other comics. It was mean,” he said.
