A lot was on the line for boxing on the 8th of March 2024, when the former two-times unified heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua, brutally knockedout the former MMA heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, in the second round after a two-times knockdown, in Ngannou’s second professional boxing match.

Boxing was put on a life support on Saturday October 28th 2024 in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, after Francis Ngannou on his first ever professional boxing match, secured a knockdown of Tyson Fury with a left hook in the third round, though Fury survived the knockdown and boxed to a split decision win in a ten round match. Francis Ngannou got a moral win as many fans, boxing pundit and boxers believe he won and was cheated, while others agreed that though Francis knocked down Fury, he still got out-boxed.

If Francis Ngannou had defeated Anthony Joshua, it would have rubbished the process that leads to becoming a professional boxer, the years put in going through the armature level, the Olympic and all the other stages, would have meant less if a powerful person, with enough punching power can come into a boxing ring and beat the boxing heavyweight champion of the world.
