Ahmad Arbery, a young black man was jogging down the street on a Georgia road in 2020; when he was chased and shot dead by three white men in two vehicles, one of the vehicles had a confederate flag sticker on it. Gregory McMichael, 65; his son Travis McMichael, 35; and their neighbour William “Roddie” Bryan, 52. have all pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

The trial of the murder case of Ahmad Arbery is on at present, and it is appalling the level of blatant racist tactics; implored by the defence attorney of the white men. “We don’t want any more Black pastors coming in here” is a quote from attorney Kevin Gough, referring to the courtroom; after civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton was seen seated with the victim’s family earlier in the court proceedings.

On Monday morning Laura Hogue, one of the defence attorneys delivering her closing argument, choose to dehumanize the victim Ahmad Arbery with her comment of the victim’s “Long dirty toenails”.
