Prince Harry Finally Speaks After Father, King Charles III's Cancer Diagnosis

Prince Harry has opened up about his father, King Charles III’s, recent cancer diagnosis in a heartfelt interview with Good Morning America. The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex expressed love for his family and gratitude for being able to visit his ailing father during this challenging time.

During the interview with Will Reeve, Prince Harry emphasized his appreciation for being able to spend time with his father, stating, “I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.” When asked about the potential impact of King Charles’ illness on their family dynamics, Harry responded affirmatively, noting that such challenges often bring families closer together.

Currently in Canada with his wife, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry spoke about the strength of the family unit during difficult times. He mentioned that he is participating in various winter sports, including skeleton sledding, at the Invictus Games 2025’s Winter Training Camp in Whistler.

King Charles III, 75, recently returned to London for further cancer treatment after disclosing his diagnosis on Feb. 5. In a statement released over the weekend, the monarch expressed gratitude for the support he has received and stressed the importance of raising awareness about cancer.

Prince Harry’s urgent flight to London upon learning of his father’s diagnosis involved a brief meeting with King Charles at Clarence House. Royal expert Katie Nicholl shared insights into their relationship, stating that Charles “desperately wants to reconcile with Harry” to have a genuine relationship with both his son and grandchildren.

Nicholl revealed that Charles personally informed Harry of his cancer diagnosis over the phone, prompting Harry to take an overnight flight from Los Angeles to London. The emotional reunion marked the first time they had seen each other since the King’s coronation and their time together was limited.

With two children, 4-year-old Archie and 2-year-old Lilibet, Harry and Meghan’s family has been at the forefront of concerns amid King Charles’ health challenges. The Duke of Sussex has returned to Montecito, California, where he resides with Meghan and their children, leaving the possibility of future reunions with his father uncertain.
