Zimbabwe prisoners released amid overcrowding during Covid-19 pandemic.

The releasing of about 3,000 prisoners through
presidential pardon has begun in Zimbabwe as the threat of the spread of the Covid-19 rocks the overcrowded jails across the country.

As more prisoners are expected to be freed from the countryside prisons, up to 400 prisoners at Chikurubi prison and other jails in the capital, Harare, were released on Saturday.
