Initially endorsing Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris back in September 2020, Johnson expressed a shift in his perspective, stating, “Am I going to do that again this year? That answer’s no. I realize now going into this election, I will not do that.”

Reflecting on the current state of America, Johnson admitted dissatisfaction, but he maintained his optimism for improvement, affirming, “Do I believe we’re gonna get better? I believe in that – I’m an optimistic guy. And I believe we can do better.”

Explaining his previous endorsement of Biden, Johnson clarified that it was a decision he made based on what he deemed best at that time. He acknowledged his influence and the responsibility he felt to share his endorsement, but emphasized that his political choices would remain private moving forward.

Asserting his commitment to unity, Johnson highlighted his trust in the American people’s choices, asserting, “It is between me and the ballot box, like a lot of us out there, not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people and whoever they vote for, that is my president and who I will support 100 percent.”
