Far-right Parties (AFD) And (FDP) Are A Danger To German Democracy

The danger in the rise of FDP and AFD anti-immigrant right-wing populist political parties in Germany

The rise of far-right political parties in Europe is a course for concern, have anything been learned from the disastrous history of extremism? Videos of a massive crowd of far-right activists, giving Nazi salutes made the rounds online. The extremist occupied the center of Rome, the capital city of Italy and home to the Vatican City, the headquarters of the Catholic Church on January 7th, 2024, reigniting the brutal memories of Mussolini and his Italian Social Movement (MSI) party.

Recently Germany witnessed the rise of The Free Democratic Party (FDP), and their anti-immigrant activities, a face Germany would rather leave buried in the past, and a growing voice in the mainstream parties is beginning to question, whether the best way to stop this far-right radicalism, is to ban The Free Democratic Party (FDP) from German politics?

The collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008, led to a financial crisis and the great recession across the globe, which triggered the rise of far-right extremists around Europe. Is the slowing down of the German economy leading to anti-establishment activities, or is it that Angela Merkel created a void that the Olaf Scholz government is yet to properly occupy? Either way; why is The Free Democratic Party (FDP) gaining and viciously spewing anti-immigrant rhetoric?
