Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, has finally revealed the release date for her highly anticipated film debut, “Water And Garri.” After hinting at her foray into acting, Savage took to social media on April 4, 2024, to share the exciting news.

The movie is set to premiere exclusively on global streaming platform Prime Video on May 10, 2024. A promotional image featuring Savage alongside Nollywood actors Jemima Osunde and Mike Afolayan accompanied the announcement.

“Water And Garri” takes its title from Savage’s latest EP and is also her first project as an executive producer.

This marks a significant move for Savage, who is already a powerhouse in the African music industry. Having achieved international recognition for her unique blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop, she’s known for hits like “Kele Kele Love” and “Love Me Hard.”

Savage’s musical career began as a backup singer for renowned artists like George Michael and Mary J. Blige. In 2012, she signed with Mavin Records and released her debut album, “Once Upon a Time,” which solidified her place in the music scene.

Fans can now look forward to seeing Savage’s talents shine on the big screen with the upcoming release of “Water And Garri.”
