Renowned musician and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has raised concerns about an alleged plan by the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to arrest Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). This purported action stems from Obi’s persistent criticisms of the administration.

Charly Boy issued a stern warning, stating that any move to arrest or press charges against Obi would be met with unprecedented resistance in Nigerian history. He cautioned the government to exercise restraint and avoid causing turmoil with what he termed an “illegal arrest” of Obi.

Taking to his social media platform, Charly Boy expressed his apprehension, alleging, “There’s a report of an attempt of arrest on Peter Obi, by Tinubu’s Government over Peter Obi’s consistent refusal to back down on calling Tinubu out towards good governance and accountability.”

He emphasized, “Any arrest or charges against Obi must be met with resistance as never seen in the history of Nigeria before, and the Obidients are ready for it. Tinubu’s government must tread with caution not to set this nation on fire with an illegal arrest of HE Peter Obi.”

Charly Boy urged the Tinubu-led government to refrain from its purported “evil plans” against Peter Obi, emphasizing the potential repercussions for the nation.
