Ghanaian musician Olivetheboy has revealed that his decision to defer from the University of Ghana to pursue music was met with disapproval from his father. Despite this, he forged ahead with his musical ambitions.

Olivetheboy, who was studying Business Administration at the University of Ghana Business School, deferred his studies at level 300 to focus on his burgeoning music career. He explained on “The Delay Show” that he wanted to avoid his studies hindering his musical development. However, his father, a pastor, was against the decision. “My father, who is a pastor, was not happy with my decision, but I didn’t care,” Olivetheboy stated.

The “GoodSin” hitmaker intends to solidify his position in the music industry before returning to complete his degree. “I will definitely go back to finish it. Probably within the next two years, I should be able to complete it. It’s because I want to solidify my brand before taking any break,” he said. This revelation highlights the artist’s determination to balance his academic aspirations with his passion for music.
