Martha Ankomah: “I Don’t Want Lilwin’s Money, I Want To Teach Him a Lesson”.

Actress Martha Ankomah has refuted claims of a GHS 300,000 settlement with Kumawood actor Lilwin in their ongoing defamation lawsuit. She clarified that despite reports of an agreement, no financial resolution has been reached.
Ankomah stated that the court had directed Lilwin to issue an apology, and they are scheduled to return on April 1st to review its acceptability. “It is not true that we have reached this settlement. It’s sad, I don’t know who is writing those stories. The truth is that when we went to court, the judge directed us to return with the apology. So on 1st April, we will go back to court and review the apology to ensure that it is acceptable,” she explained.
She emphasized that her primary goal is not financial gain but to ensure Lilwin understands the consequences of his actions. “I have previously indicated that if he apologies and retracts his statements, I would not take anything from him, maybe just our legal costs. But I don’t want anything from him, not a dime,” she said. “I just want him to do the right thing so that people understand that you cannot say anything and get away with it in this country. This is simply to serve as a lesson.”
Ankomah stressed that Lilwin’s previous apology was insufficient as he failed to retract his defamatory statements. She reiterated that the court will review the new apology on April 1st and make a final decision.
