Beauty Queen Chidimma Adetshina Opens Up About Pageantry Struggles.

Nigerian-South African beauty queen, Chidimma Adetshina, has candidly revealed the personal challenges she faced during her pageantry journey. In a recent interview on the Big Friday Show, she opened up about grappling with identity issues due to her dual citizenship.

When asked about her decision to pursue pageantry full-time, Chidimma expressed her unwavering ambition to secure the prestigious title of Miss Universe. She shared, “I’ve had this dream since 2017 to become the next Miss Universe. I’m truly grateful for the platform and opportunity to strive towards that goal.”

Addressing the identity crisis she encountered, Chidimma revealed the emotional toll it took on her. She shared, “I think for me, it has been a long journey. It has been so hard, I won’t lie, there were times when I would cry myself to sleep and be like, ‘Why me? I want it to end.’ There are times when I think that we have to look at the positive side when difficulties like this happen. I also had to change my mindset and see that maybe more of this greatness is coming as well.”

This interview comes on the heels of Chidimma’s exit from the Miss South Africa pageant amidst allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother. Following her departure, Chidimma faced criticism in South Africa but received an invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, which she accepted.
