Ghanaian Authorities Assure Bimbo Ademoye of Action Against Movie Piracy.

Ghanaian authorities, including the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Sam George, and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority (NFA), Kafui Danku, have responded to Nigerian actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye’s allegations of copyright infringement against her movies being aired without permission on Ghanaian television stations.
Ademoye had taken to Instagram to publicly call out the unauthorized broadcast of her films in Ghana and directly tagged Sam George and Kafui Danku, urging their intervention.
Sam George assured the actress in the comment section of her post that he would address her complaint with the relevant minister and emphasized the Ghanaian government’s commitment to protecting intellectual property rights. “I, however wish to assure you that our government is very respectful of intellectual property rights and would ensure the protection of same,” he stated.
Similarly, Kafui Danku informed Ademoye that she and her management are actively working to stop the unauthorized airing of her movies in Ghana, promising that the actress would see “definite actions in a couple of weeks.” Their swift responses indicate a willingness by Ghanaian authorities to address the concerns raised by the Nigerian filmmaker.
