Actor Femi Adebayo Shares Why He Slapped His Father, Oga Bello.

Famed Nollywood actor and producer, Femi Adebayo, has finally addressed the incident where he slapped his father, the veteran actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello. The incident, which took place in 2008 during the filming of Funke Akindele’s movie ‘Taiwo Taiwo’ has been a topic of discussion for years.

In a recent interview, Adebayo explained the circumstances surrounding the slap, clarifying that it was an unintentional act during a particularly intense scene. He recalled that while playing an aggressive thief, he accidentally struck his father, deviating from the script’s requirements.

Adebayo shared that he immediately apologized to his father after the scene. “It wasn’t in the film that I had to slap him, but the character was an aggressive thief, and the man didn’t want to give us money. I just realized that I raised my hand to hit him,” Adebayo recounted.

A trending video on social media shows Adebayo describing the incident as a regrettable accident. Despite the unexpected turn, his father responded with understanding, even making light of the situation. “When I begged him after the scene, he was like, ‘you would have been in trouble if you had failed to hit me,’” Adebayo said, recalling his father’s reaction.

The incident, now clarified, highlights the unpredictability and intensity of on-set dynamics in Nollywood, further cementing Adebayo’s and his father’s professionalism and dedication to their craft.
