Ghanaian Fans Rally for Lil Durk’s Release.

A wave of support for incarcerated American rapper Lil Durk has reached Ghana, where fans took to the streets to demand his release. The demonstration, held on October 28th, saw fans carrying banners and wearing merchandise bearing the rapper’s “On The Family” crew logo.
Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested in Miami on charges related to a murder-for-hire plot. The indictment alleges that the rapper offered money and other incentives to associates to kill Quando Rondo, a rival rapper.
The incident stems from a 2022 shooting in West Hollywood, where Rondo’s cousin, Saviay Robinson, was fatally wounded. Durk and five other members of his OTF crew have been charged with murder-for-hire and could face life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
Despite the serious nature of the charges, fans and fellow artists have expressed solidarity with Durk. This recent arrest adds to a growing list of high-profile musicians facing legal troubles, including hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
