Popular Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has addressed the recurring question about her extended breaks from the Nollywood film industry. The 46-year-old actress, often referred to as “Omosexy,” clarified that these hiatuses are intentional and necessary to maintain her well-being.

In a recent Instagram post, Omotola explained that after decades of continuous work in the entertainment industry, she finds it essential to take time off to relax, recharge, and re-evaluate her career. She emphasized that these breaks are not indicative of her retirement from acting but rather a conscious decision to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The actress revealed that she recently visited Nigeria in December 2023 and spent a few months filming two movies before returning to her other endeavors. Omotola’s acting career began at the tender age of 15, and she made her Nollywood debut in the 1995 film “Venom of Justice.”
