Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced plans to donate a substantial sum of ₦300 million to a charity dedicated to combating drug abuse and supporting orphanage homes. This generous gesture is set to coincide with his 32nd birthday on November 21, 2024.

This will mark the fourth public donation from the musician. In previous years, Davido has donated significant amounts to numerous orphanages across Nigeria. Notably, in 2021, he donated ₦250 million to 292 orphanages, and in 2023, he contributed ₦237 million to over 400 orphanages.

In addition to his ongoing support for orphanages, Davido’s latest donation will also focus on addressing the issue of drug abuse. This initiative aligns with his personal experiences and past controversies, including an incident in 2015 where he faced scrutiny from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for depicting hard drugs in a music video.
