Man Reveals Asake No Longer Talks To Friends Who Sheltered Him When He Was Broke and Unknown.

Popular skit maker Yemi Elesho has sparked discussion regarding the challenges of fame with claims that fast-rising musician Asake has distanced himself from his friends from his university days.

Elesho, who knew Asake during their time at Obafemi Awolowo University, alleges that Asake relied on friends for accommodation throughout his studies due to financial limitations. However, since achieving mainstream success with songs like “Omo Ope” and “Sungba,” Asake has reportedly become unresponsive to messages from these same friends.

While acknowledging the strain on Asake’s relationships, Elesho suggests it’s inevitable for someone experiencing such a rapid rise in fame. He states that Asake “can’t carry everybody along” as he navigates his newfound success.

Asake signed with YBNL Nation in February 2022, and his debut project, “Ololade,” released that same month, propelled him to stardom.
