Former Ghana’s Most Beautiful Queen Embarks on Guinness World Record Culinary Journey.

Former Ghana’s Most Beautiful Queen Embarks on Guinness World Record Culinary Journey.

Akua Konadu Acheampong, acclaimed as a former Ghana’s Most Beautiful Queen who represented the Brong Ahafo Region in 2013, is set to embark on an extraordinary culinary mission. From June 28th to July 2nd, 2024, at Zurak Park in Madina, she will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Lessons by an individual.

Acheampong’s ambitious endeavor aims to highlight the rich culinary heritage of Ghana. The record attempt involves continuous cooking lessons taught to a class of at least 10 students, with the duration precisely measured in hours, minutes, and seconds. The student count can exceed 10 but must not fall below this number to ensure the validity of the attempt. All actively participating students will receive certificates.

According to Acheampong, her goal is to promote Ghanaian cuisine globally. Over the four-day event, she will cover the culinary delights of Ghana’s 16 regions, focusing on four regions each day. For instance, dishes from the Ashanti Region will be featured, with lessons on preparing staple meals, their health benefits, and regional snacks, lunch, and supper.

Beyond breaking records, Acheampong aims to create job opportunities and empower unemployed youth, particularly inmates, by equipping them with valuable culinary skills. The Ghana Prisons Service has partnered with her to identify inmates interested in culinary skills for virtual enrollment in the classes. Selected inmates will receive startup capital and ongoing support to establish stable businesses before their release. The lessons will be streamed live for inmates and broadcast on National Television (LS TV), with arrangements to allow inmates to watch without disrupting their routines.

Additionally, daily lunches will be delivered to six prison stations, including Nsawam Male and Female Prisons, Senior Correctional Centre, James Camp Prison, and Akuse Male and Female Prisons during the event.

This record-breaking attempt is not just about setting a new Guinness World Record but also about showcasing Ghanaian cuisine and providing skills and opportunities to those in need.
