Bebe Cool Denies Involvement in Tems and Omah Lay’s Ugandan Arrest.

Bebe Cool Denies Involvement in Tems and Omah Lay's Ugandan Arrest.

Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has vehemently denied any involvement in the 2020 arrest of Nigerian singers Tems and Omah Lay in Uganda.

The singers were arrested and detained for performing at a concert that violated COVID-19 regulations. Following their arrest, Tems alleged that Bebe Cool had played a role in their detention.

In a recent podcast interview, Bebe Cool refuted these claims. “I didn’t get Tems and Omah Lay arrested in Uganda. It’s very difficult when the internet picks on a story in a direction,” he stated.

He explained that he learned of the arrest through a friend and immediately intervened, attempting to secure their release. However, he faced accusations from the show promoter who blamed him for their detention.

Bebe Cool emphasized that he worked tirelessly to secure the release of the Nigerian artists, contradicting reports that the Nigerian ambassador played a significant role in their release.
