Diamond Platnumz Claims Warner Music Rejected “Komasava” as “Trash”.

The song, featuring Jason Derulo, has achieved immense success, garnering millions of views on YouTube and dominating streaming platforms. However, Diamond claims that Warner Music initially deemed the song “trash” and refused to distribute it.
“When I submitted that song to my distributor, which is Warner, they didn’t want it. They said it’s trash, they said this song we don’t want to take it,” Diamond revealed in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
Diamond expressed his frustration with the label’s initial rejection, stating that they seemed to favor traditional sounds over innovative music like “Komasava.”
“You know, when you work with these big distribution and record labels, they still have this old mindset. They believe in you singing in English or they believe in the old type of sounds that were big. So when you give them a new sound, they don’t want to take it,” he explained.
Following the song’s overwhelming success, Warner Music reportedly expressed interest in distributing “Komasava.” However, Diamond refused, stating that he would not allow them to profit from a song they initially rejected.
