Gloria Bugie Vows Retaliation After False Arrest.
Ugandan singer Gloria Bugie is gearing up to take legal action against events organizer Abitex, alleging slander and bribery. Bugie, who was recently detained on charges of computer misuse, accuses Abitex of orchestrating a false arrest by bribing police officers.
Bugie, whose real name is Gloria Busingye, spent a night in police custody after being charged with spreading a nude video of herself. However, she maintains her innocence, claiming to be a victim of revenge pornography. She alleges that the video was stolen by a man who later demanded money from her. When she reported the incident to the police, the man fled the country.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed Bugie’s arrest, stating that she was suspected of recording and sharing the video. He emphasized the seriousness of online crimes and warned against such actions.
Despite her ordeal, Bugie remains resolute. She vows to pursue legal action against Abitex, who she believes was motivated by a desire to set an example for other young artists. Bugie insists that she was not the one who released the video and that she is actively seeking justice for the true perpetrator.
