GNL Zamba Slams Music Awards, Warns Organizers Against Unauthorized Nominations.

GNL Zamba Slams Music Awards, Warns Organizers Against Unauthorized Nominations.

Renowned Ugandan rapper and spoken word artist, GNL Zamba, has issued a stern warning to music awards organizers to cease nominating him without his explicit consent.

The musician expressed his frustration with the perceived devaluation of music awards, particularly those that have emerged since the heyday of the Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM Awards). He contends that these newer awards often exploit artists’ brands to boost their own visibility, rather than genuinely recognizing and rewarding talent.

“These awards are cheap carbon copies of the PAM Awards,” Zamba declared. “Musicians’ awards have lost their value, and organizers are using our brands to market their own shows.”

Zamba emphasized that he will only accept nominations if he has personally submitted a request. “Do not nominate me if I do not submit something to your categories. I have been nominated in the Most Inspirational Song but don’t use my brand to promote your sh*t, I will sue you,” he warned.

While Zamba acknowledged the legitimacy of awards in the film, TV, and fashion industries, he remains resolute in his stance against unauthorized nominations in the music category. “I don’t mind film, TV, and fashion awards nominating me, I love the Abryanz Fashion Awards, they put in extra work to reward talent,” he stated.
