Nigerian singer Crayon has bravely opened up about his past struggles with drug addiction, revealing that he nearly lost his life and was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility.

In a recent interview, Crayon recounted a terrifying episode that occurred in front of his record label’s office. During a state of extreme intoxication, he began acting erratically, walking barefoot down the street and smashing his phone.

His colleague, Rema, came to his rescue, calming him down and offering words of encouragement. Crayon recalled Rema’s words, “Bro, trust me, once you pass this stage, you will come out great because I feel like this is the final battle you’re about to fight.”

The singer’s addiction led to a dangerous point where he nearly jumped out of a moving car, mirroring the tragic situation faced by fellow Nigerian artist Mohbad.

Crayon was eventually taken to a psychiatric hospital in Lekki, where he received the necessary treatment to overcome his addiction. He expressed gratitude for the support he received from his friends and family during this difficult time.
