Nana Ama McBrown Pleads for US Travel Ban to Be Lifted.
Popular Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown, has publicly appealed to the United States Embassy in Ghana to reconsider the travel ban imposed on her over two decades ago. In a recent interview, McBrown revealed that she was deported from the US in 2001 and subsequently barred from re-entry. While the exact reason for her deportation remains undisclosed, McBrown has insisted that she is now a reformed individual and deserves a second chance.
McBrown expressed her desire to visit the US again, emphasizing that she has maintained a clean record since her deportation. She urged the embassy to review her case and consider lifting the travel ban. “I’m begging them. Please American Embassy, consider me again,” she pleaded. “When you look at my record, I’m not a bad person. I’ve never been a bad person.”
In addition to her plea, McBrown also used the opportunity to caution her fellow Ghanaians about the importance of honesty when applying for visas. She warned against forging documents or providing false information, as such actions can have long-lasting consequences. “If you are going to the embassy, things have changed more than my time. Now fingerprints… are there. So we should do things right, now,” she stated.
In a separate segment of the interview, McBrown shared her personal views on marriage. She suggested that women should consider delaying marriage until they reach the age of 35. According to McBrown, this would allow women to focus on personal development and career advancement before committing to a long-term relationship. She also expressed her belief that men should wait until the age of 40 to get married, ensuring they are financially stable and emotionally mature.
