Ghanaian rapper Medikal has publicly addressed the reasons behind his rift with Nigerian music star Davido.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana, Medikal revealed that the fallout stemmed from a perceived lack of loyalty from Davido. Medikal explained that he had severed ties with fellow Nigerian artist Dammy Krane at Davido’s request due to their ongoing feud. However, when Medikal sought similar support from Davido after facing disrespect from one of his associates, he was met with the response, “the game is the game.”

“I didn’t want to talk about Davido’s issue, but the reason we fell out was because of loyalty,” Medikal stated. “I had a song with Dammy Krane, and during that time, he was beefing with Davido. Dammy Krane went on social media to announce our collaboration, and Davido hit me up, telling me not to associate with him. Because we were cool, and he often visited me when he came to Ghana, I cut ties with Dammy Krane.”

Medikal further explained, “But when one of Davido’s boys disrespected me in a song, I reached out to Davido to let him know, and his response was, ‘the game is the game.’ That’s when I realized he wasn’t loyal to me. Loyalty means a lot to me, and I grew up valuing it. So, when I saw he wasn’t reciprocating that loyalty, I felt some type of way.”

The rapper also addressed the subsequent events, stating, “After I confronted him about the issue, he unfollowed me. I told him, ‘I didn’t tell you that,’ and I showed him what a real friend would do. So, he unfollowed me, and I was like, cool. To make it easier for him not to see anything of mine, I blocked him. It all comes down to loyalty,” he added.

Medikal’s candid revelations have shed light on the nature of their fallout, highlighting the importance of loyalty in his personal and professional relationships.
