Davido Receives Threats of Show Cancellation Over Bad Nigeria Economy Comments.
Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he has been receiving threats following his recent comments about Nigeria’s economy.
The singer had previously criticized the state of the Nigerian economy on the American podcast, “Big Homies House,” warning against potential relocation to the country. His remarks sparked controversy, with many Nigerians, including public figures like Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri, criticizing his comments.
Davido, however, has remained defiant. He took to social media to dismiss the backlash, asserting that entertainers are the true ambassadors of the country. “Yall mad cus we the real ambassadors!” he tweeted.
Furthermore, the singer claimed that there have been attempts to cancel his upcoming December show in Lagos as a result of his comments. “Dem say dem go cancel my show cus of my interview … loooool I don’t have to perform in Nigeria,” he wrote.
