Renowned rapper Nicki Minaj has heaped praise on Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido, describing him as an “incredible melody maker and songwriter.”

Minaj recently collaborated with Davido on her latest track, “If It’s Okay.” When asked about the reason behind the collaboration, she explained that she wanted to infuse an Afrobeats vibe into the song.

“That man is an incredible writer & melody maker. It is always a pleasure working with him because of our mutual respect for one another. I asked him to be a part of it to bring out the Afro beats tempo/feeling in it a bit more. Naija to the world,” Minaj wrote on X.
