Popular Nigerian actress Regina Daniels recently shared insights into her initial encounter with her husband, Ned Nwoko, a senator representing Delta North. In a candid Instagram live session, Daniels recounted that she was out with one of her then-boyfriends when she first crossed paths with Nwoko, marking the beginning of an unexpected romance.

Daniels, who faced opposition from her family regarding her marriage to the much older Nwoko, revealed, “I went to visit my boyfriend, and I was so angry about why we had to go sightseeing, but when we got there, I met a cute man.” She added humorously, “The moral of the story is that your boyfriend should not stop you from seeing your husband.” Daniels noted that, before settling with Nwoko, she had dated around 20 boyfriends.

Responding to public assumptions, Daniels said that many thought her mother had influenced her decision to marry Nwoko, but she clarified that her family initially opposed the union. “People were saying mummy forced me, not knowing that she was against the marriage; my full family said no,” she said, addressing the skepticism surrounding her choice.

Ned Nwoko, who married Daniels in May 2019, explained his reason for choosing the 23-year-old actress as his wife. He stated, “For her particularly, I married her because she is from my place. I wanted to marry a wife from my place, and I was looking for the right person. By the time I met her, I knew she must be the one.” Despite the considerable age gap, Nwoko and Daniels have been public about their relationship and family life.
