Alien Skin to Convert to Islam, Says He’ll Explain Reasons Later.
Controversial Ugandan musician Alien Skin has announced his plans to convert to Islam.
The 30-year-old singer revealed his intentions to convert at Old Kampala Mosque, where he will recite the Shahada. While he did not disclose the specific reasons for his decision, he promised to share more details after his conversion.
“We have an arrangement, the other day you saw me in court with a (Kufi) hat. Indeed, soon I am going to Old Kampala to give my Shahada,” he said.
Skin’s announcement comes shortly after his release from Luzira Prison on bail. He had been detained following a violent incident at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya, where he and his entourage assaulted medical staff.
