Why Sarkodie’s Paris Gig Was Abruptly Cancelled.
Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s much-anticipated performance in Paris was abruptly called off due to contractual disputes.
EaglePlug, the management agency representing Sarkodie, issued a statement yesterday announcing the cancellation of the rapper’s scheduled performance at the Station Afrique event. The concert, initially slated for August 9th, was abruptly terminated due to the event organizers’ alleged failure to honor the contractual agreements.
The management company expressed disappointment over the organizers’ inability to fulfill their contractual obligations despite multiple assurances. They emphasized that despite making arrangements for Sarkodie and his team to travel to Paris, the necessary conditions for the performance were not met.
In light of the unforeseen circumstances, EaglePlug extended apologies to Sarkodie’s fans, acknowledging the disappointment caused by the last-minute cancellation. The agency assured fans of their commitment to rescheduling the performance once the contractual issues are resolved.
It is worth noting that Sarkodie’s trip to France was marked by controversy. The rapper faced calls for a ban on his performance due to allegations of misogyny. However, the French Embassy clarified that he was not performing at the Olympics opening ceremony but at a separate cultural event.
Despite the challenges and negative publicity, Sarkodie had proceeded with his travel plans until the performance was canceled due to the contractual breach.
