Former Ghanaian rapper, Pope Skinny, has made a surprising career switch. After facing challenges in the music industry, including a lack of financial security, Skinny has relocated to the United States and taken up a new job as a truck driver.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Skinny opened up about the realities of being a musician in Ghana. He criticized the lack of social safety nets for artists and urged aspiring musicians to consider alternative career paths. “If you don’t have a hit song, you will go hungry,” he warned.

Skinny also expressed his frustration with the recent ban on celebrity endorsements of alcohol by the Food and Drugs Authority. He argued that such restrictions limit opportunities for creative professionals.

Despite his new career, Skinny remains proud of his time in the music industry. However, he believes that truck driving offers a more stable and secure future in the United States.
