Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has thrown his weight behind ongoing protests against illegal mining, known as Galamsey, in Accra. The three-day demonstrations are calling for an end to the destructive practice and the release of Democracy Hub protesters arrested during a previous action.

In a social media post, Stonebwoy urged the government to take decisive steps to address the growing problem of Galamsey. He emphasized the need for detailed plans to tackle the environmental damage caused by illegal mining and expressed his disappointment with the lack of commitment to resolving the issue.

While the protests primarily focus on Galamsey, they also address other pressing concerns facing Ghana, such as the poor state of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Despite the serious nature of the issues, the protest grounds were filled with music and dancing.
