American Comedian of Ghanaian descent Michael Blackson has expressed regret for his earlier comments criticizing Ghana as a whole due to issues with his Eurobond investment. In a post on X, he clarified that his frustration stemmed from his personal experience and not a general condemnation of the country.

Blackson invested $1 million in Eurobonds to support the Michael Blackson Academy, a free school he built in Ghana. However, he faced challenges when Ghana used the funds to service debt, resulting in significantly reduced returns.

The comedian initially voiced his frustration online, expressing disappointment with the reduced interest rate and the extended holding period. He later apologized for his initial reaction, acknowledging that his criticism was made out of anger.
