Popular Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, known by his stage name Shallipopi, recently announced he’s taking a break from smoking. The musician, known for his hit song “Pluto Presido,” shared the news in a Snapchat video from his vacation.

Shallipopi encouraged other smokers to take similar breaks, saying in the video, “You don’t have to smoke all the time. Take a break sometimes. I’m on break now, and I’m feeling good.”

This isn’t the first time a Nigerian celebrity has attempted to kick the habit. Stars like Tonto Dikeh, Don Jazzy, Terry G, Faze, Dr Sid, and Kizz Daniel have all publicly announced efforts to quit smoking in the past. However, the fight against smoking hasn’t been easy for everyone – some celebrities, like Terry G and Kizz Daniel, have later admitted to relapsing and returning to smoking.
