Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale is embroiled in a public dispute with his mother, Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah. In a recent social media post, Wale claimed his childhood neglect by his parents shaped him into the person he is today.

This comes after Madam Avemegah publicly accused her son of abandoning her for over a decade and failing to provide financial support despite her ailing health. While Wale expressed love for his mother, he denied any obligation to care for her financially. He claims his own neglect as a child justifies his stance.

The artist credits his stepmother for providing the stability and support his biological mother allegedly lacked. He further criticized his mother’s decision to air their family issues on social media, suggesting she is manipulating public perception.

This is not the first time Wale has faced accusations of neglecting his mother. In 2022, Madam Avemegah revealed being evicted from her home and struggling with health issues. These claims were recently corroborated by her niece on social media.
