Rwandan Musician Bruce Melodie Faces Paternity Lawsuit.

Rwandan musician Bruce Melodie, known for his hit song “When She’s Around,” is facing a paternity lawsuit after Agasaro Diane, a Ugandan resident, came forward claiming to be the mother of his child.

Diane’s lawyer sent a letter to Melodie on April 22nd, 2024, requesting a paternity test and proposing a custody agreement. The letter emphasizes that Diane has been the primary caregiver for the child, providing for their needs including schooling and healthcare.

Melodie reportedly offered financial support of 10 million Rwandan francs, but has consistently denied paternity. In a 2020 interview, Melodie stated his position, requesting a DNA test which Diane allegedly refused.

The child is reportedly based in Rwanda with Diane residing in Uganda. The legal battle is ongoing, leaving the child’s future uncertain as Melodie contests paternity while Diane seeks a court-ordered custody agreement.
