South Africa Government Ban Alcohol
South African government implement a partial ban against alcohol industries over Easter weekend.
The alcohol industry applauded the government decision to implement a partial ban against alcohol sales over Easter weekend, instead of a total ban.
It was reported that R36 billion in sales of revenue has already been lost over last year
However, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country would stay on a level1 lockdown over Easter but alcohol sales would be restricted to onsite venues for the long weekend.
While the south African brand owners association (SALBA) welcome the move to avoid a total ban, which was put into place on three occasions over the past 12 months.
