Gyakie Opens Up on Early Career Regrets and Emotional Toll of Fame.

Ghanaian singer Jackline Acheampong, popularly known as Gyakie, is getting candid about the mistakes and emotional challenges she faced in the early stages of her music career.
In a heartfelt interview on Hitz FM, shared widely across social media, the “Forever” hitmaker revealed that she sometimes wishes she had answered certain interview questions differently when she was just entering the industry at 19 or 20 years old.
“There were certain things I said in some interviews when I was 19 or 20, just entering the industry, that I wish I had responded to differently,” she admitted.
“If I was at a certain age and I did something, even if I didn’t like the way I did it, at that age, that’s how my mind worked. I allowed myself to be who I was at that time.”
Beyond the regrets, Gyakie also spoke on how the wave of negativity that followed the success of “Forever” affected her mental health.
“After Forever dropped, I really let the negative comments get to me. I used to read every single comment and even follow the person’s page to understand why they said what they said,” she confessed.
She added that she often felt pressure in the studio during that time, constantly chasing another hit to match the breakout single’s success.
“During that Forever period, I was always struggling in the studio, constantly searching for a song that could match its success.”
Gyakie’s honesty is resonating with fans and industry peers, many of whom praised her for embracing growth and vulnerability. As one of the brightest voices in the Ghanaian music scene, her reflection offers insight into the often unseen emotional cost of fame and rapid success.
