Popular Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Omah Lay, was involved in a terrifying car accident in Lagos on Saturday involving his two Tesla Cybertrucks.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident, which occurred in the Lekki area, left both electric vehicles severely damaged. Although the cause of the crash remains unclear, early reports indicate that no lives were lost.

UK-based Nigerian music executive and media personality, Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo, confirmed the incident via Instagram. He shared a video of the wreckage late Saturday night, expressing gratitude for the singer’s safety.

“#OmahLay Tesla truck, thank God for life. Thank God he is safe. We go buy two more once that album drops. More stories to tell,” Shopsydoo wrote alongside the clip.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows the mangled remains of the Tesla vehicles, sparking concern among fans and industry colleagues. While Omah Lay has yet to issue a public statement, sources close to the artist confirmed that he escaped the crash without serious injury.

This incident comes just weeks ahead of the singer’s anticipated album release, further fueling buzz around the star who has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the Afrobeats scene.

Authorities are yet to release an official report on the accident.
