UK-based Ugandan model Eva Apio has officially denied being in a romantic relationship with Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake, ending weeks of speculation fueled by their public appearances together.

Rumors of a budding romance between the pair spread rapidly across social media after they were spotted attending multiple events side by side. Fans and gossip blogs speculated that the chemistry between them signaled something more than friendship.

However, Apio took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday to clear the air. In response to a fan-posted photo of the duo captioned “Asake and his Girlfriend (Eva Apio),” the model bluntly responded, “I was never his girlfriend.”

The statement has since gone viral, with fans reacting in surprise and others praising Apio for setting the record straight.

Neither Asake nor his team has publicly responded to the clarification as of the time of this report.
