Stonebwoy Praises Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traoré and Other African Leaders.

Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy used his performance at the recent HoodTalk Festival on May 9, 2025, to praise several past and present African leaders.
During his performance at Black Star Square, Stonebwoy lauded leaders such as Kwame Nkrumah, Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Muammar Gaddafi, and others for their leadership. He credited them with liberating Africans from colonial rule and mental slavery.
“Standing inside the Black Star Square, we have to know why we are here. We have to know why this light is red, gold, and green. This is where Kwame Nkrumah made that speech in 1957 where he said Ghana is free forever,” Stonebwoy stated. “He said the freedom of Ghana is meaningless unless it is connected to the freedom of Africa. Big up to the president of Burkina Faso for liberating Burkina Faso. Big up Traoré, Big up Muammar Gaddafi, Big Up JJ Rawlings, Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara, and all other African leaders and legends who gave us peace.”
Stonebwoy also called on Africans to resist mental slavery and oppression from Western influences, emphasizing the importance of believing in and embracing the African spirit.
